"Czech-ing" In

Well, if you haven't heard via phone yet, we've made it to the Czech Republic.  Before we go into details about what's happening here though, we need to share about our last game in Bulgaria.

After a 45-minute drive up the mountain on a twisty-turvey road, we made it into Camokov home of the newest and best arena in Bulgaria (that probably is more similar to what we play on in the States).   It was very nice!   The team we played there, Rilski, played a tough game, tying it up in the third quarter before we pulled away with another win, 102-88!   We left Bulgaria 5-0.    We're hoping to post the video of the end of our time in Bulgaria tomorrow.

After doing some sight-seeing Sunday we left for the airport.   We visited one of the oldest and largest cathedrals in that area of the world.

The airport check-in was a bit frantic due to European baggage limitations, but thankfully we made it to Prague on time.   We met our staff there and immediately loaded a bus for the town of Nymburk.  We are staying at the Olympic Training Center and there are some Olympians training here at the same time we are including a record holder in the decathlon.

Monday we got in a good practice and then headed to a small orphanage in town.  We spent the afternoon playing basketball, football (soccer), and other games with the children ranging in age from 2 to 18.  It was a great experience to bring smiles and laughter to them.

Tonight we played the Czech Junior National Team (18 and under) and won 93-62.

Please pray for our remaining time together as a team both on and off the court, that we would finish strong and mature as men seeking the Lord.

Be sure to "Czech" us out again!

I'm watching the AIA blogs because my son, Eric J., is playing in Russia right now. I saw the post from Ben B. as I was scrolling thru the blog. Ben, I just wanted to let you know Eric is with AIA right now too - I know you guys are friends. I'll email him too, to let him know to pray for you, and you can do the same for him. They will be traveling into southern Russia just across the Black Sea from Bulgaria.

It's awesome you "Iowa boys" are playing around the world for Christ!!
