Wednesday update from Lebanon

Last night we played our toughest game of the tour.  It was against a university team that won their league last year.  We built an early lead of 21 points only to have them come back and tie the game with seconds to play.  On the following possesion Bobby Huck drove the lane and fed Myles Daley for the winning bucket.  After a late free throw we ended up winning by three.  It was a great game that we were fortunate to win.  Sometimes our lack of depth really shows at the end of games when guys are just flat out tired.  pray that God would strengthen these young men with His power and not that of their own.  We had opportunity to share with the team after the game.  Eric Reiners did a great job of presenting the gospel and we all a chance to speak with the players individually.  That is really what this is all about.  Today we are continuing to run our basketball clinics for the kids.  We have had a great time with them so far this week.  tonight we play the semi finals of the tournament.  Eric Coblentz did return to action last night albeit at about 75 percent.  He still hit three 3 point shots and was a real spark for the team.  /God has reallly provided multiple opportunities this week and it has been a real blessing to serve him here.  Continue to pray for your boys here in Lebanon.

 God Bless

Yesterday was the 1st time I hear of the AIA basketball team... I am a member of the UCO (University Christian Outreach) group, and we had an evangelistic event last night in Antelias, where we invited around 150 university students to a bbq night... To make it short, I met there someone called Gerard -whom i guess you know- and he told me about you guys.

I did some research and here i am now reading about your visit to Lebanon!!! It is very inspiring and encouraging to see how the Lord is using your talents to reach out to ppl (smthg we are starting to do in UCO, seeing the good talents we have and how we can use them for His service...).

I noticed from what i read that you have a very tight schedule; however, i will give you my mobile nbr (03-536904). Contact me if possible to discuss the possibility of doing a common activity together (could be a friendly basketball game, a small informal gathering, an evengilistic event...).

(p.s: though this is not the perfect way to contact you, it is the only way i can do so directly. sorry for the inconvenience i might have caused.)

    in Him,

    Elie
