WB – Colombia Tour – Day 1

We left for the airport at 3:30am this morning.

As I am writing this the seatbelt sign has just come on as we have run into a little “tummy drooping” turbulence. (It is how the spiritual interest heightens in moments like this.)

Currently we are about 45 minutes from making a mark in history. This is the first time in its 43 years of existence that AIA has ever sent a sports team into the country of Colombia. It is exciting on multiple fronts. For our team this is the first time that most of them have been out of the country on any type of mission trip. It will be a defining time in each of the girl’s lives as they are away from what is normal in the USA.

Second, because we are a basketball team from the USA we have a platform to share the story that God has written in our lives. We want to share and want others to hear the true story of Jesus Christ as hear the personal experiences of each of the girls.

Third, our team will add great lift and credibility to the local ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ at the universities where we play as well as with the fans who come to, listen to, and watch our highlights on TV.

When we land we will herd through customs and get on another flight to Cartagena, where we will spend three days.

We play our first game tomorrow. The team is anxious to get out and play after a week of practice in Xenia, OH

Thanks for following our team, for your interest, and for your prayers as you “travel” along from home.
