WB - Colombia Tour - Day 8 - Cali

We were met at the airport again by an incredible entourage of local believers with a huge Welcome sign, Athletes in Action hats, candies, and flowers for each of us. We rolled out our 20 bags (to be exact…which by the way we have down to a science checking in and out of each airport) out to a 9 passenger van. As we all looked with wondering eyes as to how in the world we would fit, our Colombian teammates said “welcome to Colombia, this is how we pack it in here.” We proceeded to watch the men hoist the majority of our bags onto the top of this little “bus” and tie them down one on top of the other…we looked like the Flinstones!!

After having been up since in the 4’s that morning we got back to the hotel, had a great dinner and then went to a local church to be the special guests at their service. We were delirious by this point, and many of us struggled to keep our eyes open (much of which the ½ awake ones got on tape…hilarious). We were able to share testimonies and about what AIA was all about, as we learned what the Lord was doing in Cali. One of the ministries we heard about was an outreach to the deaf community and we all gladly signed up to go to a fundraiser lunch the following day to support their cause. We finally made it back to the hotel and crashed…much needed!
