Hey everyone,
We have had an action filled 2 days since I last wrote. We did the high ropes course on Thursday. It was 45 feet high and most of us either did the zip-line or the swing. It was really good for us because it forced us to get out of our comfort zone and try new things. Later that day we had another team time with Pastor Tom. He taught us about how to prepare and give our testimonies. Then we had a 3 hour practice in the AIA gym, which felt like a sauna. But, we pushed through it and coach finished putting in all of his plays and defenses. We finsihed Thursday going over the Audience of One Bible study with the track team.
Today we got to "sleep in" till 8:15am...haha. We ate breakfast and were off to the Lil Dribblers Camp. We got to interact with the kids and compete in some competitions for the kids. Derek, our sharp shooter, won a 3 point contest. Matt put on a dunking exhibition. Liam put on a dribbling show. Even Coach got in on the action winning a game of lighting, knocking out yours truly to seal the victory. After that we went off to practice to go through a final run through of all our stuff. Later, we had a light shootaround and coach gave us a great history lesson about a graveyard located on the AIA campus, which has an amazing story. I'll let the players tell you about it when they get back, but make sure to ask or you will be missing out. During the shootaround there was a tornado warning and the safety siron for the town was set off. So, we had to stay in the gym and got to play some pick up basketball against each other. We walked back to the dorms in the rain and there was thunder and lightning, which us California guys (Josh, Daniel, Jon, and Myself) don't see much. So it was Then we went to Young's Dairy where we had a very interesting experience. We ate dinner in a place where there is a cow on the wall with a TV in the middle of it. Next we went and hit some golf balls in the rain and lets just say we all need to stick to basketball. To close out the day we had a time when some got to share their testimonies and that was by far the biggest highlight of the day.
Overall, we are growing as a team, getting closer everyday. God has brought together a great group of guys and I personally cannot wait to go share God's love in Moldova with this great group of guys.
Tomorrow we play the prison team at 12:30pm. And I'll up date you on that next time.
