Sports Performance Team Completes First Full Day in Honduras

AIA's Sports Performance Clinic Team spent their first full day in Tegucigalpa, Honduras teaching sports medicine and strength & conditioning to over 100 people at the Universidad Pedagogica Nacional (UPN)! The President of the Honduras Olympic Committee presided over the opening ceremonies at this joint venture between the Olympic Committee, the University and Athletes in Action. Prior to the opening ceremonies the team was able to meet the needs of their hosts by evaluating the injuries of some national team athletes. Please pray that this leads to some ministry opportunities with these athletes and their coaches. The airport in Tegucigalpa is closed due to a recent plane crash. Flights scheduled for that airport have been rerouted to San Pedro Sula, Honduras several hours away. However, the Lord provided the opportunity to make some new ministry contacts in this city. While the drive to Tegucigalpa was long, the team hopes to utilize these contacts when they return to San Pedro Sula at the end of the week for their return flight. There is a definite air of excitement among all of the conference attendees. Tommorow, the team will have the opportunity to work with teachers and students at the university in the morning and Olympic Committee doctors, physical therapists and physiologists in the afternoon. Please pray for good weather for the outdoor sessions and another day of good attendance. -phoned in from Jim R. in Honduras.
