Today we are packing up our stuff and getting ready to go to Jena, Germany tomorrow to play. Jena, Germany is southwest of Berlin and a three hour drive by our nine passanger vans. We will be traveling on the AutoBahn which has no speed limit on some sections, which I am excited to see. From Jena, we will be traveling to Hallo, Germany and then playing another game on Tuesday night. The next two days are filled with alot of travel, basketball, and good team time before we all head our separate ways.
Today we went to a concentration camp in Berlin and as a team reflected on the sights, sounds, and history that took place. We talked about the impact of war on a society and the way it affects everyone no matter where you are located. Seeing where the prisoners worked, where they where allowed to shower, and the places they were granted to sleep was disturbing yet made us each thankful for our blessings and personal relationship with Christ. Our hearts where burdened for these people and yet we were encouraged at how the Lord used this time in history to glorified Him.
Here is Germany there are AIA staff which are here year around and this trip we have had the privilege to get to know them. Tonight we ate dinner at their house and enjoyed playing with their kids in the backyard. Its great to know there are AIA staff in Germany to continue spreading the gospel.
