Hey Everyone,
We are back in Chisnau and are sitting in Nick's house watching Pistol Pete's movie as I type this to you.
We got back from Cahul yesterday, so I'll give you a quick recap of our last couple days there. Just so you don't get confused, I write the blogs on Nick's computer and then he takes them to his house and posts them. So the previos blog entry was from friday here. It is now Monday here.
On Saturday in Cahul we played the Cahul team and won by 10. It was very hard game for all of us and especially me because I had to watch from the bench. The refs were completely one sided but we pushed through it by taking on Coach Lamie's "Next Play" mentality. We just forgot about it and kept playing. That night we went out to eat with the team and got to watch the Euro 2008 game with them. The next day we had an early game at 10am against a Romanian Pro team. We beat them by 40 or so. Jason got in on the action wearing my number 4 and scored 11 points. After the game we ate with the team and then left to come back to Chisnau. It was a very bump ride to say the least. The roads here are not paved at all. They have tons of pot holes and the driver of our Mercedez Benz van goes about 100 mph on the highway, but we made it back. We were so excited to be back because we got to eat at our favorite restuarant....McDonald's!!!! I never thought I'd say I looked forward to going to McDonald's but it is the best thing for us to eat in Moldova. McFlurys have quickly become our favorite food too...haha.
Today we went to the same orphanage we went to 2 years ago. It is an orphanage for physically and mentally disabled children. It touched all of our lives and I will let your players tell you about it when they get back. We then went to a monastery that was beautiful (check the pics Jason put up).
Just to update you on my ankle, it is feeling much better which is great because when I did it I thought I would be done for the trip. I plan on returning to action tomorrow when we play a Moldova Pro team.
