I'd like to start off by saying that everyone should make it a point to come here someday to experience this. Today was an emotional day for me personally. Actually, I think many of us had emotions running high. Maybe it was the mid-tour emotions playing a role, but it just seemed to really hit home today. The sadness, the poverty around us - it's just a lot to take in. Yet, there is still so much joy in the hearts of these people. And there can be only one reason...Jesus Christ!
Our schedule today was similar to yesterday. Part of the team went to the coaches clinic and the others went back to Kibera to work with the middle school children. At the coaches clinic, six players committed their lives to the Lord. Amazing things are happening here! What a blessing for our team to witness that. Three of the coaches - John, Sam and James - came over to our home tonight for a BBQ. Great fellowship, great food and more great music from our talented musicians. Such a great way for us to praise God and worship Him together.
I'm going to keep this blog short tonight. I'll try to make up for it with more pictures. I hope you're all enjoying reading up on our journey - we're certainly enjoying reading your comments, so please keep them coming!
Swahili phrase of the day:
Gina lako nani - What's Your Name?
In Christ,
Carie
