Before I even arrived at training camp, I considered it to be a great honor to be selected to compete in an opportunity like this. Now that I have been through training camp, I feel even more thankful for the opportunity to represent my God and my country.
The first day I arrived we spent time getting to know each other. Once everyone had arrived the coaching staff had us come together as a team by taking part in a world-class rope challenge course. The ropes were suspended 25ft to 40ft in the air. Each team member paired up with another team member to climb and compete in the obstacle course. This was a great experience and a great chance to form trust and learn how to step out of our comfort zones. This also helped build faith in one another and built strong team chemistry.
This first week we had practice twice a day nearly every day. It was fun to experience players from all over the country bringing their talents together and learning to play together and for an "audience of one" ... which is God alone. Almost every evening we ate supper at a different staff member of AIA's house. The hospitality has been amazing here. These people willingtly and graciously opened up their houses to all of us and the fellowship was great.
Tomorrow we head out for Taiwan. There is a lot of anticipation and excitement for the trip. I haven't even left the country yet and this has been onoe of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I can't wait to see what this trip has planned out for us. Whatever the outcome may be, we know that God has a plan and purpose for us and that is to worship Him in the way we play and share his news with other people from around the world.
