First and foremost i want to give Coach Blisss and his wife Claudia congratulations on thier 30 anniversery it is truly something to be admired. Todays win against Austrailia was more than a win. Watching Damien Long come in and play was a very inspiring and courageous action. He was diving for every loose ball as it if it were his last day to ever play basketball and every little thing he did out there made a difference. It really made me think and underatand about what Coach Mo said of how to live everyday as if it was your last.
It also made me relaize the story Damien told us bout how the one arm kid named Steven who at first thought he was worthless and came to believe that he was just as special as anyone else. Every human being has something to say either through actions or through words. Marrianne Wision quotes "and as we let our own light shine, we unconscioulsy give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automacically liberates other." Eveyday every player is letter their light be known to the people we come n contact with. Our respect our humbleness and our gratitude to be here is helping each and every one of our lights shine and help others. So far i belive this trip has shown me the light to improve on every aspect of my life either physically, mentally and even socially.
BTW we came from behind and outdistanced a very talented Australian team 98-71. We played our best "team" game so far.
