Jones Cup farewell

CHAMPIONS TONIGHT!!!

My name is Will Wilson and I am a manager, assistant, photographer, and encourager for our team. It has been a blessing to be apart of this team. As you know, our hard work, spirit and togetherness throughout the past three weeks allowed us to be in the championship game tonight against Jordan. The game was tabbed the "most thrilling" of the tournament. After a strong start for the Athletes in Action team, Jordan clawed their way back to make it a tight game throughout. In the closing minutes of regulation, AIA found themselves down three until Dane Brumagin answered with a pair of three-pointers. Ben Woodside, Da'Sean Butler and Brett Winkelman also found themselves at the free-throw line with the game on the line. With the game tied and less than three seconds remaining, a free-throw was missed by AIA and the game was sent into overtime. In a hard-fought extra period, Jordan went on to win the game 93 to 91.

However, we believed throughout the tournament, we believe today, and we "will" believe for a lifetime that the greatest victory does not come from a game played on a basketball court but from a lifetime of serving our father above. Although, we lost a game we know we came here and will leave a winner. We left a impression to the people of Taiwan that we played not only to win on the court but to win to glorify our great God that we serve.

Our victory came when we had the opportunity to stay and share with fans and staff for over 30 minutes after our game. We had the great opportunity to share our faith and reason for being here. We thank you for all of your support in allowing us to come over here to share the great gift that God first shared with us.

I'm out...Will Wilson
