Going to the finals

The AIA Lebanon basketball team will be playing in the finals tonight of the university tournament.  Last night we played against a team that we had already played and beat them very soundly.  The final score was 91-50.  It actually was a closer game than the score indicated.  At half time we were up by about 15 but had four starters with 3 fouls.  A few calls here and there could have really changed the complexion of the game.  The team really played well as a unit last night.  Every player played a major role in the overall effort.  Offensively, we were led by the hot shooting of Caleb Knepper.  Caleb had 7 three point shots and really led the way for the team.  Defensively we were led by the play of Mitch Cain and Eric Reiners.  Both players exemplified what it means to play for Christ by giving all they had throughout the game.  Tonight we play the Lebanese under 19 team for the championship.  We are expecting an extremely physical close contest.  They are very athletic and have 12 or 13 players that they constantly rotate.  It can really wear down a group of six players.  The ministry here has been really great this week.  We have had the oppotunity to share with every team that we have played.  Last night Eric Coblentz was able to share his story and the love of Christ witht the opponent.  It is so awesome to hear these young men boldy proclaim the greatness of our Saviour.  Tonight we have been invited to go to dinner with an opposing team after our game.  It should allow for some great spiritual conversations so pray for boldness for each of our young men.  We are almost done with our mission but feel that God still has great plans for us for today and tomorrow.  We will see you all soon.

Love,

Your AIA Lebanon boys
