Cookout at Silas'!!!!
We started the day going to the market -- boys and girls split up. The men were in charge of chicken supplies (including a live chicken). The women went to purchase corn flour for the foofoo and vegetables. YUMMY. Back at Silas and Comfort's we remained split. The men got a little rest while the women began to peel potatoes, cut many different vegetables, prepare the foofoo, and gut and clean the fish. Later the men got their turn -- outside. One machete, two chickens, lots of blood. Mmmmm. Afterwards we feasted on our spread of delicious chow.
The excitement did not end there.
On we went to a radio station where we were interviewed for a full 50 minutes. Two testimonies were shared, as well as the gospel. This was the team's third year being interviewed by the same man at that station so there were some relationships rekindled upon arrival. Jon, Silas, and Ralph all knew the emcee named Kingsley. Jon shared about the coaches seminar from the past two days and how athletes in America participate in AIA and how they glorify God through their sport. Silas, Ralph, and Tim talked about AIA from all different angles: Being the director of AIA in Cameroon, being a director of a team here in Cameroon, and being part of the track & field department in America, respectively. We also got to SING three different songs ON AIR. A capella of course. You can imagine the resounding rejoicing reverberation from that recording studio. :) It was wonderful to hear Silas in his environment (he was a journalism major in university and he used to work for a Christian radio station) sharing God's great news to all of the listeners of that satellite radio station (specifically in Yaounde and Douala).
That's it for today. Hope YOU all are doing WONDERFULLY! :) Thanks for your prayers!
Post script: Pizza tomorrow night. That's the bomb diggity.
