Greetings from Guatemala City, I know by now most of you may have heard these updates already :0) seeing that a few of our guys have made phone contact back home with the help of their calling cards..... We began our day on Saturday with our first clinic at the national basketball federation gym with about 35 kids, it was an exciting time for them as well as for our players William Bencoma (East Central University) did a great job sharing his testimony with the kids, as well as coach livingston (Eastern University) did a great job teach skills to the differtent levels that were in attendance. We also met with the president of the federation and he gave us a very warm greeting. We played our first game last night against an allstar team that consisted of the top players from the different division 1 pro level team in Guatemala, these players are trying to get spots on the national team. Our guys did a great job keeping it close throughout the contest, but fell short by 10 points. It was a good time following the game as I (Al G.) shared with their team about Athletes in Action, and our purpose and mission during our visit we also passed out a copy of the Struggle and Triumph DVD to each player and the coaches also the referees. This was a good start as we prepare for another clinic and game on Sunday. Please continue to pray for health and good rest for pur team and we start the final week of this tour.
All for Christ <><
