What a great day to be with AIA! After a couple of grueling practices and some intense Buble study and testimony preparation time, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner and evening with all of our local host families. We gathered this evening at the Sladek's home for some burgers off the grill and some of Craig's famous home-made salsa. It was great to be able to visit with all of the families who have so graciously opened their homes (and their refrigerators!) to our athletes. After some fellowship and prayer we enjoyed watching the Spurs-Lakers game together. With Coach Collazo being from Texas and Andy S. being from Detroit, it was pretty exciting to see opposing sides cheering for their team.
Our time on the court today was quite productive. We seem to have our offfensive sets prepared and our full-court press is coming together as well. We will see how it all measures up tomorrow evening as we are scheduled to play a local prison team. We are hoping to be able to showcase our athleticism a bit and might just have a few alley-oop plays drawn up for the high-flying Eric J.
The team spent quite a bit of time in the classroom today as well. We began the morning with AIA Principal #1; playing for an "Audience of One". We were also able to spend some time working on developing our testimonies in order to be better prepared to share them at the prison as well as overseas. Charlie C. blessed us all by sharing some of his personal life story.
The team seems to be keeping a positive attitude and all are healthy, although we are all moaning and graoning like old men when we stand up and sit down! Due to the lack of technical knowledge by the team blogger, we are currently unable to share photos and videos with all of you. I will try to work it out and give you some small glimpses of our daily activities.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and encouragement. It is quite uplifting each time we hear from one of you. Be sure to check back tomorrow for news from Day 3 including a recap of our game with the Rockwell City Prison team.
Stay Strong!
