AIA Poland team visits Auschwitz & Krakow

This is our 3rd day in Poland.  we have visited Auschwitz concentration camp and the players were shocked by what went on there, though 4 of them had never heard of Auschwitz before.  it is good to see what is happening or has happened in the world.  We have had 3 bible studies and 4 practices.  Today is the first day of the coach's clinic.   300 coaches are in the gym now as I write this blog.  Dean Lockwood, assistant women's coach from the University of Tennesse is speaking on defense.  Bob Hoffman will speak later today.  they both came from Gdansk where they spoke in a coach's school to 40 personally selected coaches.  they had a great time and also were able to share their testimonies.

Tonight we play a select team from the region and after that have a social witth the coaches attending the clinic.  as Dean opened his session this morning he talked about his respect for Poland and shared some of his knowledge of Polish history and how Polish military leaders have impacted the American military.  he is a military history buff!  that impressed the coaches.

Today in our Bible study we read I Kings 18, which is the story of Elijah the prophet and the prophets of Baal.  i talked to the team about "spiritual jihad" or spiritual struggle in our life.  i read romans 7 and talked about how we can get victory in the stuggle against the sin in our life.

the sun is actually shining here now.  it has been raining and very dismal since we arrived.
